Backpack Full of Cash
The fight over the future of public education did not begin with Texas’ voucher program, and it will not end there.
For decades, efforts to privatize public education have reshaped the conversation around our schools, public funding, accountability, and who ultimately benefits when education is treated more like a marketplace.
We think that history matters, especially as our community considers what comes next.
On Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30 PM, Dream City PAC is hosting a community screening of Backpack Full of Cash at LOOK Dine-In Cinemas in Arlington.
The documentary explores the growing privatization of public education and its impact on public schools and some of our most vulnerable students. It gives us an opportunity not just to look at where we are today, but to better understand how we got here.
Most importantly, we want to keep the conversation about public education strong in Arlington.
That means bringing educators, parents, students, advocates, and neighbors together. It means learning from one another. And it means staying engaged in the decisions that will shape our schools and our community for years to come.
Join us August 26. Bring a friend. Bring a fellow educator or public-school parent. Let’s keep Arlington talking about public education.
